SUMMER TUTORING PROGRAM 2020
Eco friendly*Vegan*All Natural
Fruiggie Eco Art Summer Tutoring Program allows students to explore their creativity while understanding the connection between environmental awareness, health consciousness and arts and crafts. Students will engage in eco friendly and nature arts & crafts projects such as Nature Paint Making, "Back to School" DIY school supplies using eco friendly materials, DIY bedroom decor projects, and trips to local compost gardens, parks, museums, the Recyclarium facility and more! All of our art supplies are all natural, including our paint, markers, crayons, and play dough. Students will also dance, sing and play while learning the importance of recycling, upcycling and connecting with nature in a non-toxic/healthy environment. This year our theme is “EXPLORING AFRICA”! We’re so excited to learn about African culture and Art within the many countries in Africa. We will explore countries like Ethiopia, Morocco, Ancient Egypt and Bali! We will also have visiting instructors such as Yoga, a vegan chef, musicians and more. Healthy organic/ vegan Snacks & drinks/smoothies included (Students must provide their own lunch). Vegan lunch can be provided by request at an additional charge (Please email to inquire).

Paper making & Paper Mache
(Students will make paper using recycled paper. They will also create African paper mache masks, bowls, and robots, then paint and decorate their masterpieces.

Sculpting and Printing
(Students will use clay to create sculptures and paint them as well. They will also use fruit, fruit peels, vegetables, all natural paint, and recycled materials to paint and print)

(Students will paint on Papyrus paper using twigs and leaves, create
Aboriginal/Australian dot paintings, create Ancient Egyptian Crafts, and more)

DIY Musical Instruments
(Students will create musical instruments from
different countries in Africa using recycled materials)

DIY Nature Jewelry, Accessory, and Fashion Designing
(Students will create pendants, chains, head crowns, bracelets, and more
using copper wire, crystals, dried fruit peels, seeds, recycled materials and things found in nature. They will also sew and design their own recycled clothing using fabric, trims, and more. )

(Students will create and design their own African print ‘no sew’ quilts,
throw pillows, wall décor, table decor and more)

(Students will learn how to make Ethiopian inspired dishes such as Misir Wat (Lentil Stew), Shiro (Chickpea Stew), Abesh Gomen (Collard Greens), Vegan Kitfo and baklava for dessert.
